Jesus, they're hard work, sometimes. They've been away for a few days and despite the fact that they're pretty trying, I'm making the effort to welcome the home.
Fair enough, I did get to kip at the end of the bed last night which is nice as it is the comfiest spot in the house. And I'm walking around while they're lying there talking, snuggling up to them etc. Being, basically, your model domestic cat. But maybe, I think to myself, I need to go the extra mile. So, I have an experimental lick at his armpit. Quite salty, but there you go.
Well, he freaks. "ERRR! Justine, your cat's just licked my armpit, bleurgh, bleurgh, bleurgh, it's really horrible, it's unhygienic" etc. Listen, there are people out there who would give their right arm to have me lick their armpits. Admittedly, not the kind of people who I'd want to live with but a bit of gratitude wouldn't go amiss.
